The story behind the patented reversible lens hood for the legendary Nikkor-N 5cm F1.1.

The legendary Nikkor-N 5cm F1.1 inspired us to develop something different: a precision-crafted, reversible lens hood that combines traditional craftsmanship with an innovative mechanical design.
The Beginning — 2023
On July 3, 2023, Crown Company Limited filed a Japanese patent application for our original reversible lens hood design.
Unlike a conventional lens hood, the OLJ Type 2 can be mounted in its normal shooting position or reversed and securely screwed onto the lens for protection during storage and transportation.
Our goal was to create an accessory worthy of one of Nikon's most celebrated rangefinder lenses.
From Application to Patent
Following examination by the Japan Patent Office, our original design was granted patent protection in 2025.

Flexible filter compatibility: Supports 62mm filters in the reversed configuration and accommodates 67mm filters, including suitable ND filters, within the hood system.
